Pool Chlorine Empty Pool Chlorine

Has anyone noticed how concentrated the chlorine in the pool is? Is there a way to reduce the concentration so we don't feel like we are taking a chlorine bath every time we jump in? There must be some way to do this while still maintaining community sanitary conditions.
