High-speed Internet Empty Internet Speed

Post  CPK Wed Apr 16, 2008 2:33 am

Took a few days to get everything hooked up, but I'm getting about 3 Mbps download, .5 to 1 Mbps upload

So excited since I watch a lot of YouTube on my Apple... I'm going to try out the basic service before bumping up to 7 Mbps for $7 more per month.

Depending on the test server you choose, your results might vary throughout the day. So test at various times to make sure you get an overall average.

Thanks for putting this together, guys. Anyone been in contact with the manager's office lately about the RJ45/RJ11 jacks?

The latest on the jacks is that you unless you tear down the walls and rewire, you can only have one or the other, but not both. We were lucky our unit has both comm jacks, but I certainly feel for those on the lower floors who don't have this option. You folks deserve some sort of compensation. At the very least, they should pay for a wireless router...

High-speed Internet Empty Reset

I find myself having to power down my router every so often because there is no connection. When I restart everything is back to normal. Anyone else experience this?

It used to happen with my old Road Runner connection every couple weeks. Something to do with how Oceanic handles IP addresses for residential customers... Not sure if this is also the case with Hawaiian Tel.

Looks like they're still working on this one...

5/07/08: INTERNET/DATA JACKS: A&B's engineers are continuing to do research for a solution. A report back to owners is expected by the end of the month.

Could be something with the router if you find yourself doing this too often.
